Sometime in 2021, I realised that art, specifically visual art as seen in traditional mediums, deserves a media platform that delivers content in a way that a 21st century audience would enjoy and appreciate.
I had tried to enjoy mainstream art publications in the digital space, and failed. It always seemed I didn’t quite have the refined taste that artsy folk and people in the industry had, the language took a slow reread to understand, the general candor elevated seemingly unimpressive things to heights that seemed overblown at the very least.
It’s quite certain that many other people around the world feel the same way. If you have felt the disconnect between the modern global public and traditional art media, if you are young and would like to read, view and share about art in an accessible medium with accessible language, I hope this is where you find exactly that.
Accessibility aside, we want this to be a truly enjoyable reading, viewing and soon participatory experience. We want you to be excited to see a new update from ArtBoard. We want to see artists celebrate a feature with their family and friends. We want to be valued by gallery owners, exhibitors, collectors, artists, and most importantly the general public. That is what we are aiming for.
ArtBoard is currently self funded and run by 3 people. If you’re interested in learning more about what we’re doing, have suggestions, or business proposals, you can send an email to OAX@artboardmag.com. We are also open to adding valueble individuals to the team. If this seems like an interesting boat to ride with, hop in. We are all fully remote, so location will not be an issue.
