Canadian Writer Mitch Speed has Essays Coming On Art Critics and Commercialization

This year, Berlin-based Canadian writer Mitch Speed will release a collection of essays that grapples with the disconnection between art and its critics. The answer to “Why?” could be a clear one. The commercialization of the art world could cause it. Modern art magazines explain and even glorify art but fail to critique it. They act as restructured or disguised promotions for any artist that can afford to pay them to advertise their works.

However, it could be an overall unwillingness to criticize work in modern times.

Whatever the cause, the result is the same: a disconnect between the art and the critics.
